The top 11 Tulum all-inclusive resorts in 2023
Planning on staying in one of the stunning Tulum all-inclusive resorts? I’ve got you covered! In this post, I’ll talk about the top all-inclusive resorts in and around Tulum.
All-inclusive resorts are particularly popular among travelers who want a hassle-free vacation experience.
These resorts allow their guests to stay focused on just relaxing or exploring their surroundings, rather than worrying about additional costs related to food or drinks.
Although all-inclusive resorts are not my favorite place to stay and I like more small intimate boutique hotels, I do understand the comfort they can offer.
And that is why I thought I would offer an overview of the all-inclusive resorts in Tulum and its surroundings.
However, I need to clarify first, to be completely accurate. In Tulum, there’s only one all-inclusive resort, which I will talk about later on in this post.
I guess that is because there are so many restaurants in Tulum that you will want to try, that staying in an all-inclusive resort while you have such a variety of culinary options would be pointless.
However, there are plenty of all-inclusive resorts within proximity of Tulum; some are situated as little as 10 minutes drive away. I’ll mainly be covering those in addition to Kore.
Besides, even if you were staying at one of the Tulum all-inclusive resorts, I’d highly recommend going out and trying some of the restaurants in Tulum.
The town is home to some of the best restaurants in Mexico, and you’ll be missing out big time if you don’t sample the local cuisine.
There are so many other activities to enjoy in Tulum as well (I’ve briefly covered them at the end of the article) to offer a full overview of what Tulum can offer.
We’ve got a lot of ground to cover, so, without further ado, let’s get started by covering the adults-only resort in and around Tulum.

TULUM ALL-INCLUSIVE RESORTS
Best Tulum all-inclusive resorts for adults only
An adults-only all-inclusive resort, as its name implies, is dedicated to adults; thus, people under a certain age are barred from staying there. The age limit varies from 16 to 21.
Adults-only resorts are popular for many reasons. Some couples want to relax in a quiet environment without having to parent their children constantly.
Others travelers are looking to escape from the stresses of daily life and unwind in an environment that’s tailor-made for recharging and relaxing (not to mention having fun) far from screaming kids.

Secrets is an adults-only resort that’s known for offering guests its signature Unlimited-Luxury experience.
The has been rated very highly by guests across all the platforms I checked, with an average rating of above 4.5 stars on all of them.
One of the reasons Secrets Akumal Riviera Maya Adults Only Resort is so popular with its guests is because it’s unpretentious.
Unlike many other resorts in Tulum, which tend to be very flashy and loud, Secrets is tucked away amongst lush tropical greenery and sits on a secluded beachfront location.
This makes it feel more like a home away from home than an impersonal resort experience.

“Overall it was a beautiful stay – The property was very clean and the staffs were nice, the location was perfect! The all-inclusive buffet was the better option because of the food options. The pools were clean and a better option for swimming.”
“Excellent-The entire hotel team is incredible. They all work very well and gave us excellent service. Special recognition for the guys from the pool bar: Cesar and Oscar. They treated us very professionally. The girls and boys from the Buffet were also incredible with us (sorry I didn’t ask their names) but they were very kind and attentive to us. Congratulations to the entire Hilton Tulum team. About the installation, I must say that it is new. Everything is spotless and beautiful. The pools were our favorite place because the beach is not good. It has stones, so I recommend everyone who plans to visit it to bring water shoes so you can enjoy it. For us, it was not a problem because we enjoyed the hotel to the fullest. The food is incredible. Great drinks, very well-prepared cocktails. Exquisite specialized restaurants…”

Grand Bahia Principe Tulum ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
► Check availability and rates on: Booking.com | Expedia
The Grand Bahia Principe Tulum is one of the most highly rated resorts in Tulum.
One thing almost all guests praise about this resort is how efficient and friendly the staff here are.
A lot of reviews mentioned that everything from check-in to check-out was a breeze.
The staff goes above and beyond to make sure that you enjoy your stay here.

The resort itself is surrounded by nature, and the setting is simply beautiful. There are 3 pools available to guests, one of them being “adults only”, in case you want some alone time to relax.
The Bahia Principe Tulum is perfect for any vacationer looking for an upscale getaway with all the amenities you need right at your fingertips.
There are three Bahia Principe hotels situated here: Bahia Principe Grand Tulum, Bahia Principe Grand Coba, and Bahia Principe Luxury Akumal.
The difference is in the number of restaurants, bars, and pools available at each one.
However, your experience won’t vary noticeably no matter which hotel you stay at.
Guests are free to dine at all a la carte restaurants of the other hotels, with one exception: you can only use the buffet at your hotel.
Bahia Principe Highlights
There is an incredible barrier reef that you can reach from the shore for spectacular snorkeling.
For those who are not staying there, the hotel offers a beach club which I talk about in my post on Snorkeling in Tulum.

TULUM ALL-INCLUSIVE RESORTS
Is Tulum cheaper than Cancun?
This question comes up very often when people are trying to make their itineraries. Tulum and Cancun are two of Mexico’s most popular beach destinations on the Mexican Caribbean coast. They’re both beautiful, but they have very different vibes.
The short and simple answer is that Tulum is generally slightly more expensive than Cancun. It’s possible to visit either, or both, of these locations if you’re on a budget; but, on average, Tulum will be more expensive.
Let’s cover the long answer. The reason behind this is that Cancun is a bigger city offering much more options than Tulum.
However, Tulum is a small town that’s become wildly popular over a short time and is rapidly expanding to keep up with tens of thousands of tourists that visit every year.
But Tulum has also become the hype, where the coolest people from the US jet-setters community gather to show off their glamour or to live the dream life on the beach.
All of that caused the growth of fancy and overpriced restaurants, shops, and hotels and as the demand grows, so do the prices.
That is in short the reason why Tulum is one of the most expensive destinations in Mexico, more than Cancun and probably more than Cabo.

Is Tulum still worth visiting?
In the past, Tulum was a sleepy little beach town that attracted backpackers and other budget travelers who were looking to get away from the crowds and noise of Cancun. But now? It’s transformed into a hotspot for luxury resorts and upscale vacationers who are willing to pay for convenience.
In this background, people often wonder if it’s still worth visiting Tulum. However, there’s no one-size-fits-all answer to this question. I’d say that it’s worth visiting Tulum if you haven’t been here before.
Tulum still retains some of its small-town charms. But, to see if this town is a good fit for you, you’d have to visit and experience it at least once.

Is Tulum safe?
Unfortunately, Tulum has experienced some very sad episodes of crimes that wouldn’t be expected only a few years ago and I don’t feel as safe as I used to.
I still go but I would be more careful than I would in Cancun or Merida, for example.
So please follow the below rule to keep yourself away from unpleasant situations:
✔ Don’t wear flashy jewelry or other expensive items that could attract thieves. Keep all your valuables locked in your hotel room safe.
✔ When you’re outside, try to blend in with the locals by dressing down.
✔ Be aware of your surroundings at all times so you can avoid any dangerous situations before they start.
✔ Be aware of how much money you have on hand at all times. Carry enough cash with you to cover your expenses for the day, but not much more than that. Don’t flash around large sums of cash if you can help it; doing so might make you a target for people who want to steal from you.
✔ If you’re traveling at night, stick to the parts of town that have a lot of pedestrian traffic. Avoid poorly lit roads. Avoid walking alone at night; if you’re out and about when it’s dark, it’s best to travel with a group.
✔ Don’t walk on the beach at night.
✔ Take care not to leave any valuables unattended on the beach or the poolside area. Many people will target tourists and steal their belongings while they’re enjoying the water.
✔ Don’t use any sort of drugs
✔ If you’re going to drink, make sure that you’re a part of a larger group. Don’t become inebriated when you’re out alone.
✔ Don’t drink tap water. Bottled water is readily available everywhere, so make sure to have plenty on hand at all times.

When is the best time to visit Tulum?
The best time of year to visit Tulum depends on your personal preferences and budget.
If you want to avoid crowds and enjoy more affordable rates on accommodations, then consider visiting during the off-season (April through June, and October through November).
Objectively, the best time to visit Tulum is during the dry season (December through April). During these months, Tulum and the entire area have less frequent rains and noticeably lower humidity than the rest of the year, making it easier to enjoy your vacation.
However, prices are naturally higher and you should make sure you book your accommodations and trips in advance.

Tulum All-inclusive Resorts FAQ
Does Tulum have all-inclusive?
As I mentioned before Tulum is not properly an All-inclusive destination because there are so many world-class restaurants to explore at a close distance. Yet you can find one all-inclusive luxury hotel on Tulum Beach, Kore Tulum Retreat and Spa, and a few private villas that offer an all-inclusive plan, including a butler for an exclusive stay in Tulum.
Is Tulum better than Cancun?
Not necessarily, it really depends on what you are looking for. I personally prefer Tulum for the beach but you can read this post, Cancun vs Tulum where I list the main differences in detail so that you can choose which one is best for your needs and the kind of vacation you want.
What does all-inclusive mean in Tulum?
All-inclusive means that you have all the meals included as well as the majority of non-motorized watersports, fitness centers, and other services. Some hotels also have scuba diving included and fine dining a la carte restaurant but you need to make your reservation in advance.
Is it worth staying on the beach in Tulum?
In my opinion, it is worth staying on the beach in Tulum, because it’s the best part of the town. Downtown Tulum has nothing appealing and even if you go out and explore all the things to do and see in the surrounding it is nice to go back to your beach hotel and enjoy the views and a swim.
If you are concerned about WIFI nowadays almost all hotels have decent WIFI even on the beach. But you should ask before booking if this is an important feature for you.
Where do celebrities go in Tulum?
According to People, the popular gossip tabloid, many different celebs have been spotted in Tulum’s top hotels such as Habitas, Azulik, and Amansala among others.
Is Tulum worth visiting in 2022?
Oh well, it is worth visiting but just be careful, because the level of crime in Tulum has increased, unfortunately. It breaks my heart writing this, but it’s the truth.
Stay in a nice hotel on the beach or Aldea Zama, and avoid going out at night and in dark isolated areas and you should be fine. Still, go out and explore during the day, either by car rental or join a tour.
Tulum beach is still spectacular and if there is Sargasso you can always visit all the amazing cenotes and ruins in the surroundings.
