La Valise is one of our favorite hotels. My husband and I stayed at El Patio suite and loved everything about it. The room was spacious, the interior design was impeccable, the bed was so comfortable that it felt like sleeping on the cloud. The location was central and close to all the best restaurants.

This boutique hotel is one of the best boutique hotels in Condesa Mexico City and features different rooms and deluxe apartments to fit different needs and styles, all of them boasting cool, warehouse decor.

Location in great area and close to everything. It was very clean and daily kept that way.

The complex is housed in a revamped vintage mansion right in the middle of one of Condesa’s main avenues.

Amenities include a fitness center, an elevator, a lobby with vintage decor, a self-catering kitchen, and a Starbucks on the street-level floor.

Several dining options and shops can be found within walking distance, including a fabulous bakery and tacos.

Great stay, nice spacious room, great bathroom and great location with a Starbucks on the ground floor that comes in handy.

Each of the beautifully decorated rooms at Nima Local House Hotel has a king-size bed, a balcony, and a private bathroom.

You’ll also find a lovely sun courtyard where you can relax and a spa for some pampering self-care.

The staff is very friendly and helpful, the complimentary breakfast is delicious, and the area is walkable and bike-friendly.

Dining options abound in the surrounding areas, many with indoor as well as outdoor seating.

The rooms at Nana Vida combine modern elegance, comfort, and colorful crafts. They also feature a lovely private bathroom and a small balcony.

A beautiful, boho vibe courtyard with painted murals, as well as a roof terrace with great city views, make for a perfect stay, as will the mezcal and other goodies from Oaxaca the owners are more than happy to provide.

Super friendly staff and beautifully appointed rooms in a great location.

The rooms are spacious and tastefully decorated, the beds are extremely comfortable, and the artwork is lovely. Amenities include free WIFI and room service.

The property features a modern rooftop terrace with wonderful views of the city, as well as a communal kitchen with modern appliances and great coffee.

A small library is also available. It is a good option if you’re interested in meeting and mingling with other guests. 

Our stay was exceptional and surpassed our expectations. Everything was superb, from the luxurious rooms to the thoughtful and attentive staff and ideal location. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a memorable stay in CDMX.

Each of the 10 stylish rooms boasts high ceilings, luxurious linens, and an eclectic mix of furnishings and decor that create a cool atmosphere of relaxed sophistication.

Incredible location- we walked everywhere we wanted to go in Roma. The staff was wonderful, providing great recommendations and making sure we had what we needed.

As for open-air relaxation, you can choose between the lush garden, a charming courtyard, or a cool rooftop terrace.

Enjoy the city views with a drink in hand while a painted mural serves as the ideal backdrop.

The surrounding area is very walkable, and you’ll be close to a number of restaurants, shops, and green areas. 

The rooms were immaculate and I loved the small courtyard. It was small oasis within concrete jungle of CDMX. The staff were very friendly and accommodating.

Each room at Casa Polanco Hotel Boutique is spacious, beautiful, and air-conditioned, providing all the amenities you’ll need for a wonderful stay.

This includes an Instagram-worthy private bathroom, a tea kettle, a safety deposit box, top-notch furnishings, and curated art pieces. Moreover, selected rooms have a private terrace.

The premises feature a perfectly manicured garden, free bikes, a luxury spa, and a well-equipped fitness center.

A courtyard and a rooftop terrace are available for guests’ relaxation. They are great for having a drink, a full meal, or simply enjoying the view.

The stylish rooms feature artful decor, chic furnishings, and all the amenities you require for a comfortable and pleasant stay.

A fitness center and modern co-working facilities are available on-site, including 3 event/meeting rooms with private terraces.

Relax at the rooftop bar with a carefully crafted cocktail while you take in the panoramic views of the city, take a walk to one of the beautiful parks, or head to one of the restaurants or terraces that abound in the area.

The staff was absolutely fantastic. The desk manager accommodated all requests for dinner reservations and tour guides.

Orchid House Polanco is a beautiful boutique hotel housed inside a gorgeous Neoclassic Mexican mansion that is typical of the neighborhood.

The suites and rooms are designed with a perfect blend of contemporary luxury and comfort with rustic charm.

Orchid House is the perfect stay if what you’re after is a calm oasis with discreet elegance.

The bathrooms are amazing, combining modern fixtures with marble, vintage details, and plant decor.

This is one of the few boutique hotels in Polanco Mexico City that is characterized by a lush garden as well as a courtyard, where you can have the delicious complimentary breakfast provided.

A cute vintage bench that sits on the front sidewalk is great for people-watching, and the surrounding area is very walkable.

As a tip, there’s also a pizza restaurant (Aura) in a small courtyard below.

It’s one of my favorite pizza places in Mexico City, so make sure you give it a try!

It was beautiful, smelled like heaven, was clean and comfortable and in a beautiful location, walking distance to everything you’d need.

Casa Emilia B&B Boutique provides adults-only accommodation in the heart of Mexico City.

This gorgeous boutique hotel is a treasure trove of artsy details and eclectic chic furnishings in the middle of the classic Cuauhtemoc streets.

You’ll see plants and greenery galore here, too!

Room sizes go from Standard to Family Suites, all featuring fine toiletries, comfy beds, fluffy towels, and modern boho decor perfectly blended with hardwood floors.

A full complimentary breakfast is included.

Casa Emilia’s surroundings are tree-lined streets full of restaurants serving a varied culinary offer, as well as quaint family shops.

The modern Reforma 222 shopping mall and the Angel of Independence monument are located within easy walking distance, but in general terms, a whole slew of attractions are easy to get to either by riding a public bicycle or the Metrobus that runs along Reforma.

I used to live right next to it and loved visiting its restaurant as well for working.

Many major attractions are located nearby, including the Angel de Independencia column, Reforma 222 shopping mall, and Chapultepec Castle and Forest.

Housed in a pretty house in the Coyoacan district, Hospedaje Boutique has beautifully decorated rooms that tastefully combine hardwood, stone columns, and art decor.

The rooms can lodge up to four people, with the option of having a spacious, well-equipped wooden balcony where you can relax, dine, and wine.

The location is an easy walk to Coyoacan’s main square with its beautiful church, amazing crafts market, and restaurants.

Frida Kahlo Museum is also near, as well as the Viveros de Coyoacan park, in case you want to get some exercise or need a dose of nature. 

Hospedaje Boutique is a good option if you want to stay away from the city center’s hustle and bustle but wish to experience some of the best Mexico’s capital has to offer.

Where to Stay in Mexico City

The best neighborhoods to stay in Mexico City are Condesa, Roma, Polanco, and Cuauhtemoc.

These are all trendy and centrally located, close to some of the main attractions and highlights in the city.

A nice array of dining options are available within those areas, as well as a nice variety of the most hip hotels in Mexico City.

They are all walkable and bike-friendly with public bicycle stations sprinkled along the way. 

👉🏽 Condesa

One of the most popular neighborhoods for those who want to stay – and live – in the heart of Mexico City, Condesa has a lot to offer visitors.

Colonial and Art Deco architecture mix well with super modern buildings and green areas for a unique feel.

The streets in Condesa are very walkable and quite safe.

You’ll find plenty of things to do in the area, where something seems to be going on all the time.

Amenities include tons of restaurants and bars with outdoor seating, quaint shops, cafes, and bakeries.

You’ll also find several small, unassuming, alternative theaters, offering all kinds of productions by venturing artists.

Plays, musical shows, stand-up comedians, and ballet productions are all on the menu.

Condesa is also home to several parks, most notably Parque Mexico and Parque España.

The huge Chapultepec complex which includes the forest and several important museums, is located within walking or biking distance.

👉🏽 Roma

Colonia Roma is one of the most popular neighborhoods in Mexico City, famous for its beautiful architecture, tree-lined streets, sidewalk dining terraces, and vibrant nightlife.

It is centrally located and close to many of the city highlights.

Developed in the early 20th century as a residential area for the wealthy, it fell on hard times after the 1985 earthquake.

However, the area has undergone a revival in recent years and is now home to a mix of artists, young professionals, and tourists.

It’s what you’d call the “hipster area” in Mexico City and has a very young vibe.

Roma is home to a great variety of restaurants, bars, and cafes, as well as small hotels,  trendy shops, and vintage stores.

You’ll find people walking, biking, dining, or bar-hopping at all hours of the day and night.

As a tip, Roma is divided into two: Roma Norte and Roma Sur.

Roma Sur is slightly more affordable, but I recommend looking for stays in Roma Norte because it’s overall nicer.

👉🏽 Polanco

A quintessential affluent neighborhood in Mexico City, Polanco is also a hub of cultural attractions, impressive architecture, high-end shopping, fine dining, and vibrant nightlife.

Bordered by Chapultepec Park to the south, Polanco is a safe and walkable area with many things to see and do, with Presidente Masaryk Avenue being the center of all the action.

This beautiful avenue is lined with luxury shops, art galleries, and dining options.

Polanco is a great place to visit if you’re aiming for luxury, culture, and excitement.

It is the place to go for dining at higher-end restaurants like Pujol, Quintonil, and Biko.

Make sure you also check out Cuerno, Taboo, Animal, Colmillo, and Rosa Negra if you’re into fine dining with a great ambiance!

👉🏽 Cuauhtemoc

Located a few steps from Reforma, Cuauhtemoc boasts a nice array of restaurants, cafes, bars, as well as museums.

You can easily walk to the Angel de Independencia and the Reforma 222 shopping mall, as well as the Colonia Juarez and Roma neighborhoods.

A great advantage of staying in Cuauhtemoc is that it is centrally located, with easy transportation to the historic downtown area, Chapultepec, and the most important museums like the Anthropology Museum, Museum of Modern Art, Franz Meyer Museum, and more.

The tree-lined streets of Cuahtemoc are very walkable, and there’s a Metrobus Station right on the spot It will take you to the Chapultepec area in no time for about US $0.30.

When Is the Best Time to Visit Mexico City?

The best time to visit Mexico City if you’re aiming for mild and dry weather is March-May and October-November.

Those are the months when you can go sightseeing all day long or enjoy its beautiful parks and outdoor dining options at any time of the day.

Culturally speaking, October is the time to go for Day of the Dead decorations, attractions, and festivities.

The main streets and avenues are decorated with catrina statues and cempasuchitl flowers in preparation for the famous parade and other events.

The rainy season runs from late May to the end of September, which means anything from short-lasting showers to full rainy days, although it usually happens in the afternoons.

However, the capital city of Mexico has many closed attractions such as museums, art galleries, historical buildings, and churches, so the rain should not be a reason to stop you if the opportunity comes up.
